Um die Victoria-Wasserfälle

After spending the first night at the five star Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, ride across the rolling Kalahari sand dunes and dramatic escarpments of the teak forests, to Mopane Woodland, the cool shady Riverine forest along the Zambezi. Venture over hills and ravines above the Zambezi gorges, with a birds eye view of the rapids below Victoria Falls. There are plenty of opportunities to canter on these rides – game permitting. This is an area where you and your horse can stand in the middle of a herd of browsing Kudu watching the Giraffes in the distance. You will even spend one night at the Elephant Camp and enjoy a 2 hour ride on African Elephants.
The safari ends with a tranquil canoe float on the Upper Zambezi River and a last night at the safari lodge. s Itinerary
Day
1 Arrive in Victoria Falls around noon. Transfer to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. You return to your hotel around 7:30, just in time to freshen up and get ready for tonight's dinner at the traditional BOMA restaurant. The Boma (Place of Eating), is not just another ethnic restaurant, but a cultural experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of Africa and its people. After dinner guests are invited to wile away the evening with the restaurant's very own sangoma - a traditional story teller - to learn more about the country's folk-lore, culture and heritage.
Day 2 You will be collected from your hotel around 6.30 am (wintertime). Enjoy the sunrise while we serve you tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits in the stable gardens. Your guide will go over the upcoming itinerary, match you to your horse and saddle and off you go on your riding adventure. The day is spent exploring the magnificent and varied scenery of the Zambezi River and National Park, the wide variety of game in this area. A picnic lunch will be served at the river. Animals that may be seen include elephant, buffalo, kudu, waterbuck, jackal and a variety of smaller game. In the afternoon you will ride across the dramatic ravines and escarpments of the Batoka gorge, getting a birds eye view of the Zambezi rapids. You will ride directly into camp in the late afternoon. The evening may be spent relaxing by the fire reminiscing over the days events or on a night drive, for the opportunity to see those nocturnal animals rarely seen by day. This will be a long day's ride. Night spent at Mungongo Lodge.
This is a long day's riding -of at least 7 hours.
Day 3 After a full English breakfast we go for a long morning ride, exploring the 950 hectares of Munongo Estate with a chance of finding giraffe, zebra, elephant and buffalo. The teak forest escarpment and open bushveld provide opportunities to canter or just explore. In the late afternoon we will ride to the Elephant fly camp where you will be introduced to the Elephant before nightfall. The Elephant Camp accommodates a maximum of eight guests. Four thatched chalets, a dining area, swimming pool and bar/patio overlook a sweeping view of open plains. Dinner will be around a campfire with the elephants close by.
Day 4 After early morning tea you will watch a training program, followed by an educational talk on African Elephant and their relationship with man. Following the talk (which will include safety) you will be introduced to the elephants and their "Ndunas". After a short familiarization with the elephant you will begin your elephant back safari through the bush. Upon returning to the Boma, drinks will be served prior to riding back to the Munungo Camp for a night drove and overnight.
Day 5 An early morning start will take us for a long days riding up to Diziangombo tented camp, exploring the magnificent Kalahari woodland and vleis of Fuller forest areas night spent at Dizamgumbe Camp.
Day 6 We will ride towards the Zambezi crossing over Kalahari sand dunes and escarpments along the borders of Chamabondo National Park down to the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls National Park. A picnic lunch will be served enroute and you will explore the shaded banks of the Zambezi, arriving back in camp late afternoon with enough time to shower and change of clothes. An evening game drive through the Zambesi National Park will take you to the Kalai Tent Camp, situated on the banks of the Zambezi. If you prefer to stay under fixed roof accommodations tonight the Ilala Lodge is a great alternative.
During the weeks of Full Moon you can see the Lunar Rainbow that night from your canoe inside the park.
Day 7 A Canoeing Safari on the Upper Zambezi River, is a wonderfully relaxing way to enjoy the astonishingly beautiful scenery that lines the river before it takes its plunge over the Victoria Falls. This part of the river is dotted with many islands of varying size; home to many birds and small animals. This is the route David Livingstone took on his way in search of the rising clouds of mist. It was in fact along these banks that he remarked "scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight". Breakfast is enjoyed on the banks of the Zambezi, followed by a safety talk by the professional river guide, before the day's canoeing begins. Lunch is a picnic usually taken on one of the remote islands. The day is spent running rapids, exploring channels and bird and game viewing. At the end of the day's canoeing in Zambia, sundowners are served before clients are transferred back to Victoria Falls for your last overnight at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Dinner is on your own tonight.
Day 8 Departure after breakfast or more optional adventures around Victoria Falls (Bungi Jumps, Abseiling, Whitewater Rafting, Helicopter flights, etc.).
